I know I said I’d stop talking about goals – but the way I’m feeling now I can’t help it! I am on a roll with getting things done, and I can’t stop now. Hold that thought, I have a Queen song stuck in my head now. Pause. Resume. Okay, the thing about goals is that they seem outdone but they aren’t!! Today we’re talking something new. Something fresh, something exciting. I saw this documentary on Netflix called “The Secret.” That’s what I’m going to be talking about today: How to Manifest Your Goals.
The Science Behind Manifestation
Let me start by saying that I am not a scientist in any shape or fashion. One thing I was surprised to learn is how much research there is indicating that there is, in fact, science behind the Law of Attraction! Including brain imaging studies showing the brain conforming to thought experiments, mirror neurons that show the brain attempting to mimic something that it is visually seeing.
The Difference Between Manifesting and the Law of Attraction
I highly recommend watching “The Secret” on Netflix because it really goes into the depth of the what the Law of Attraction is and how it works. In short, manifesting and the law of attraction are different levels of the same outcome.
The Law of Attraction is the universal law of thoughts attracting the outcome of your experiences. Manifesting is the byproduct of the the techniques employed by the law to create the aforementioned thoughts.
All in all, manifesting is essentially breaking down the Law of Attraction to envision what accomplishing your goals looks like and creating a desire to get there. So how do you manifest your goals?
How To Manifest Your Goals
Try to read your written goals first thing in the morning and before you go to bed at night and take a few moments to visualize and connect with the feeling of achieving your goals.
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.” -Albert Einstein
This is where I believe that meditation is such an important part of manifestation. Meditation quiets what we call the “monkey mind,” which is naturally biased toward negativity. Meditating does NOT mean you stop thinking. Close your eyes and visualize your life as if you’d already achieved what you set out for. Visualize how you feel achieving it, how your life will change, how your friends and family will treat you. Feel as if you are a kid who allows no impossibility to enter your “manifesting realm.”
“When you have inspired thought, you have to trust on it, you have to act on it.”
Trust. Part of the Law of Attraction and Manifesting is believing it’s possible and believing you deserve it. Each and every fiber of your being should exude the belief that you will achieve this goal you’ve set out for!
Affirmations are almost part of the visualization process. A simple but life changing thing you can start anytime. Say them daily! Say them when you wake up in the morning, before you go to sleep. You can say them before you eat, when you brush your teeth. Heck, say it right now. You can do it out loud of in your head – but say it proud – because the more often you hear it, the more often you begin to believe it. Especially if the affirmation is specific to your goal.
Be in the attitude of gratitude. Showing gratitude towards the opportunities that have come your way shows the universe that you appreciate it, and are listening and open to more opportunities. Gratitude is one of the simplest of ways to raise our vibration – and recognizing and appreciating all of the blessings in our lives automatically puts us in a “feel-good” energetic vibration.
I want to challenge you to keep a gratitude journal. It may sound silly on paper or to verbalize your gratuity, but doing it daily helps improve your confidence and overall happiness. So why wouldn’t you show appreciation??
It is SO easy to focus on your flaws and drown in your mistakes. I am beyond guilty of getting lost down that road and forgetting what I was trying to accomplish in the first place. It’s as if I simply don’t notice how far I’ve come. But I have come far and SO HAVE YOU.
So stop. Forgive your mistakes, be gentle with yourself, and show some self-love and self-care. It’s time to appreciate how far you’ve come and allow yourself to be human.
Why You Should Use Manifestation to Achieve Your Goals
It’s simple, it’s uncomplicated. The fact is, if it doesn’t work, you may be going about it in the wrong way. (We’ll get to that in just a minute.) And if it does work then you’re a walking success story in how to manifest your goals! Try it, share it with other people. The short, simple fact is this: You should absolutely be using the law of attraction to achieve your goals.
How You’re Manifesting Incorrectly
You’re probably thinking something along the lines of: “that sounds way too easy. All I need to do is be positive and think about my goals?” Absolutely!! But what happens when it doesn’t work?
Start by paying attention to what you’re focusing on. Do you pay attention to what’s going right, or what’s going wrong? The number one rule about manifesting your goals is this: don’t focus on what you don’t want.
“The Law of Attraction is not biased to wants or don’t-wants. It manifests the things that you’re thinking.” Lisa Nichols / Author / “The Secret”
In the same notion: if you don’t believe it, it won’t happen. It’s that simple. It’s hard to believe in something you can’t see or touch. But have faith! I know that this is different than what we’ve been taught and it’s going to feel uncomfortable. But if you believe it won’t work, then it won’t! Plain and simple.
So take a chance – you’ve got nothing to lose! Deep breath in, exhale. Believe that it WILL. What are some good vibe habits that you practice?
