Why Adulting Is Hard

Okay, so it’s definitely been more than a few days since my last post. And for that, I apologize. Since moving, my life became very busy and chaotic. I’m pretty sure we have run errands every single day since the day we got here.

I’m not going to lie, I have been struggling immensely with a lot of adulating problems. Finances have been tight and reality has come into check, but you what, it’s okay! Life isn’t supposed to be perfect and I really wish I had told myself this before.

So for all the adults in the world, this one is for you. Here are my top 3 reasons on why adulating is HARD.

Number One: BILLS

Pay Day is usually my favorite day! That is, until you realize you have bills to pay. Phone bills, electric bills, mortgage bills or rent, school fees, gas money, and the list goes on!

Number Two: Waking Up Early

This used to be the worst. Unfortunately, I’ve mostly grown accustomed to this. YAWN.

Number Three: Responsibilities

Feeding ALL of the pets, cleaning the house, doing the laundry, making sure you get enough food and water, applying for jobs, etc. The list of responsibilities goes on. And I love being responsible…except for the paying bills thing…

I’m an adult now, but I can still be a kid at a lot of times. There are things I DO enjoy about being an adult as well. I get to experience things in a different city and start my bigger journey. Sure, there may be hard times along the way, but I don’t regret any of it. I’ve become a stronger person. I stress less, worry less, and smile more. Life is too short to focus on the negatives.

I hope you enjoyed this small post. I’m back in the game! I’d love to hear from you in the comments below!

  1. I can semi-relate to this. I just moved to college and into my own apartment and I pretty much have to do everything on my own from now on, which I kind of like and kind of hate. It is nice to independent but sometimes it is so overwhelming and you just want to be a kid again!

  2. I am right there with you! I’m in my early 20s and am learning how to deal with that whole adulting thing and trying to balance responsibilities and still try to have fun! We’ll get through it!!
