Let’s get on to what today is really about!! Today is Sunday, April 22, 2018. Better known as National Earth Day! Today, all over the world, events are being hosted to support environmental protection. The problem is, we aren’t helping to protect the Earth any other day of the year. Why is it that we are so worried about fitting in with everyone that we forget to ACTUALLY care about a planet that provides for us?

Everyday we should be progressing to make more decisions on changing what we do that affects the Earth. I decided to get a few people together to help me give some helpful suggestions of things we can do to better our environment.

Kristen from GiftShopBoutique says: use reusable totes!

Bring these bags with you on your grocery trip, use them to pack on the go, or bring them to the library to carry your books in!

Misty from Thifty Mama Life says: We can use cloth diapers. With the amount of diapers babies go through, we could make a decent change with just this switch. The even save money in the long run. You never know when small changes make huge differences.

Tamara from The Pomegranate Mom says: We should cut our plastic consumption. Check out HER Earth Day post here!

My momma at The 365 Vegan said: Use Refillable Glass Water Bottles.

ladies choice.jpgAnother great thing you can do is start using Essential Oils. You can use them for everything which can cut down the plastic waste of medicine bottles such as ibuprofen. Say goodbye to headaches/migraines, menstrual cramps, sore muscles; and more! I love Simply Earth because they have lots of oil options such as single oils, synergy blends, and roll-ons as well as “Around The House” items like natural air fresheners,  carrier oils, and  even a monthly subscription box. Get a $40 credit when you subscribe to the subscription box (which can be cancelled at any time) OR a free oil $10 and under on your first purchase! Click here to shop or use code KLOFREE at checkout! Ladies…. try this Ladies Choice Roll-On to relieve Menstrual Cramps for just $9.99 ! As always, 13% of your order goes to help end human trafficking.

You can also support businesses that actively participate in Earth saving activities or donate to Land and Marine Conservations. For example:

  • Sand Cloud. 10% of all orders go to Marine Conservations! Get 15% off when you use the code CASPER697
  • Meraki Journey. One bracelet either plants up to 12 trees OR a donation to Marine Megafauna Foundation! Each bracelet is also personalized with elements from the Earth.

One of the things that I LOVE doing is picking up trash down at my local marina. You could totally do this right around your neighborhood and get your kiddos or friends in on it, too! It’s a great bonding moment and  you get to help out the planet.

You don’t always have to spend money to help reduce the waste:

  • Try walking or riding a bike as opposed to driving OR start carpooling with your work buddies.
  • Say NO to plastic straws at restaurants and fast food chains to reduce the demand for them.
  • Drink filtered or tap water instead of bottled water.
  • Donate your old clothes instead of throwing them away. Not only are you giving to people in need but you’re reducing the waste is could have created by simply trashing the clothing.

There are plenty of ways to help the Earth in your daily life. We must become conscious of our actions and how they affect our surroundings. Please me mindful of the decisions you make and help me create a better and cleaner planet.

Happy Earth Day! xoxo
